Good morning,
We have noticed that when you create a dish on Procure Wizard, that if you want to swap out a product for the same product but from a different supplier, it reverts to the cheapest price.
There is a particular example where in the dish ingredients section, there is a dish that has been created by a chef with the product - Beef: Rib Eye: 14oz and the price is €6. The option to switch out this product (green arrows button) is available and when this is clicked, the system gives the option to search for another supplier with the same product which can be added and in this case will be more expensive. It allows the product to be added @ €11 and gives the impression it's added, but when returning to the ingredients section, it reverts to the €6 price. In this situation, the supplier who has added the product @ €6 does not update the prices on PW regularly and doesn't want to use the system properly. I have been advised to remove the product or ask the supplier to do so but as we are a purchasing group, this would remove the option for other hotels to buy the product if they want. If the product @ €6 was the correct price but of poor quality, then it would also make sense to swap out the product for a more expensive product which increases your total dish cost but at least you know why it's this price when looking at GP.
The same green arrow button to swap out products for the same product at a different price is an option when you create a basket and doesn't revert to the cheapest price, so I don't see why this cannot be an option in the dishes section also.
I was informed that this is how this MDR section works and is theoretical to offer you the dish based off the cheapest price but this doesn't help a chef at a hotel.
I was advised by support to submit this to the ideas portal. Screenshots of the example attached.
