You're absolutely right - the Expiring Documents feature can be used to monitor certain expiry dates. Specifically, a Right to Work report would pull through expiry dates for passports, visas, share codes, and settled status, as long as these are stored on the personal page of an individual's profile (no documents required).
This would give you two ways to track these dates, but this suggestion would be focused solely on right to work documents, rather than all document types.

This is already a feature isn't it? There is an 'expiring documents' report. You need to create a document category and tick the 'expirable' box for that category. Then upload the documents into the employee profile under this category.
