Help us shape the future of our products by submitting your own ideas and reviewing ideas submitted by other users. If you see an idea you like, feel free to vote it up and add any comments that you feel would be beneficial.
This is a collaborative community, so please join in, contribute your innovative ideas and help our product teams to shape their roadmaps and future product development.

Our teams will review the ideas which have received the most votes on a regular basis, meaning that not all ideas will receive updates. When an idea has received enough votes, the status will be updated to 'Under Review' and then a decision made.

Include Booking Reference in Stripe Transactions

At the moment, the Stripe transaction data provided through ResDiary includes the restaurant ID but does not include the booking reference. From an accounting and reconciliation standpoint, having the booking reference available within Stripe would significantly streamline the process of matching deposits to bookings.

Because our ResDiary bookings are integrated with our POS, any prepayments made in ResDiary are sent to the POS as a credit. To reconcile these properly, we need to match each deposit to the correct booking reference. This becomes particularly important because the payment date (when the deposit is taken in Stripe) often differs from the booking date (when the POS shows the prepayment being redeemed).

Including the booking reference as metadata or a descriptor in Stripe would make reconciliation much more accurate and efficient, reducing manual work and potential errors.
