Manual SMS Booking Link from ResDiary

We would like the ability to manually send booking links to customers via SMS directly from within ResDiary or the mobile app.

In our daily operations, we receive a high volume of phone enquiries for bookings. To reduce errors (such as incorrect names, times, or details), we prefer customers to complete their bookings themselves online.

However, there is currently no way to send a booking link directly to a customer from ResDiary. As a result, we must use a separate mobile phone to manually send links, which creates extra steps and inefficiencies during busy service hours.

This feature would significantly improve operational efficiency by:

  • Reducing manual data entry errors

  • Saving time during peak service periods

  • Encouraging customers to complete bookings online

  • Improving overall table management accuracy

Suggested functionality:

  • Ability to send a booking link via SMS from a customer profile or enquiry

  • Simple pre-set message templates

  • Integration with existing SMS provider (e.g. Silverstreet)

This would be highly valuable for restaurants that handle frequent phone enquiries and want to streamline the booking process.
