Notifications/reminders for Expiring Multi Date events

We often have recurring events that we don't want to put live for "every week" as it is dependant on success/clashing events. So we do this by selecting multi dates for a time frame - usually 6 months ahead. These events then finish and drop off which can lead to us losing out on sales unless we remember to open up further dates. it would be great to have a notification facility within the event setup to either ping an email reminder or flag on the dashboard that the event is expiring and we may want to add further dates.
