I'd like to propose a change to how we manage printer settings and bulk updates within the system. Currently, it appears that printer settings and kitchen display system (KDS) settings are bundled together, which presents a challenge when we need to update one without affecting the other.
Specifically, I recommend that we implement the ability to separate Kitchen Video (KV) settings from Printers (KP) settings during bulk updates. This would allow us to send only the KV settings without inadvertently overwriting or altering KP settings that may be unique to each site. This is particularly important because KP settings often differ at the site level, and a bulk update could disrupt established printer configurations.
Furthermore, this separation would greatly benefit clients who decide to integrate a KDS into an existing business. Under the current system, adding KDS functionality can interfere with existing printer settings, leading to potential operational issues. By allowing us to send only the necessary KV settings for KDS implementation, we can avoid unintended changes to their established printer setups.
