Idea description
Add the ability for kitchen staff to clear multiple tickets at the same time from the Kitchen Video screen, including both a selective bulk clear action and an optional clear all action. This would reduce repetitive manual effort during high-volume service periods and help teams manage completed tickets more efficiently.
Problem
Today, tickets on the Kitchen Video screen must be cleared one at a time. During busy periods, this creates unnecessary taps and slows down kitchen operations, especially when multiple tickets are completed at once. It can also increase the chance of delays, missed actions, or screen clutter when staff are trying to keep the display accurate in real time.
Proposed solution
Introduce a bulk clear capability on the Kitchen Video screen so users can:
Select multiple completed tickets and clear them in one action.
Optionally use a Clear all action to remove all eligible tickets currently shown on the screen.
Receive a confirmation prompt before large-scale clearing actions to prevent accidental removal.
The feature should be designed to support fast execution in operational environments where speed and accuracy are both important.
User value
Reduces the number of manual interactions required to manage completed tickets.
Speeds up kitchen workflows during peak trading periods.
Keeps the Kitchen Video screen cleaner and easier to review.
Improves operational efficiency for teams processing high ticket volumes.
Use cases
A kitchen team completes several orders together and clears them all at once instead of tapping each ticket individually.
At the end of a rush, staff clear all completed tickets to quickly reset the screen.
A supervisor removes multiple stale or already-fulfilled tickets to keep the display accurate.
Considerations
Define which ticket states are eligible for bulk clear.
Ensure permissions and safeguards are in place for clear all actions.
Consider whether an undo option or short grace period is needed after clearing.
Maintain a clear audit trail or event history if operational tracking is required.
Success criteria
Users can clear multiple tickets in fewer steps than the current one-by-one process.
Kitchen staff can perform bulk clear actions quickly and confidently during busy service.
The number of interactions required to clear completed tickets is materially reduced.
User feedback indicates improved speed and usability on the Kitchen Video screen.
