Account Verification Username Override

During the email verification process, when users enter their 6-digit verification code, the system automatically replaces their original username with their email address. This behaviour causes authentication failures and increased support burden.

There is no email confirmation to student that username has changed, and unless they pick up on the warning message at the verification screen they then require a manual intervention to regain account access.

We would like to see an improved workflow which reduces the reliance on Access Support teams.

    As the user who flagged this I'd add its not "reliance on Access Support teams" that gives me the issue.

    I support these queries directly without Access/CPL involvement.
