Improve reporting for working visa staff that are flagged as International Students

Request: A report that we can review all employees flagged as international students that will show us their allocated term time and more critically where they have not had terms allocated against their employment/visa.

Result: If implemented this report will help identify compliance risks to customers employing foreign students and prevent consequences to staff/employer.

Supporting narrative:

With increases in monitoring from the HMRC around foreign workers on student visas there is no easy way inside Access People to report on these works, specifically around their allocated term times and more critically where there are gaps in the term allocation.

Currently if you have a staff member who is classed as an international student working on a student visa, there is no way inside product, you make sure their terms are allocated to apply the restricted of 20 hour per week in line with the law.

Consequences. If a student visa holder works more hours than permitted, the student will breach their visa conditions. Breaching visa conditions is not only grounds for visa cancellation, but also a criminal offence under the Immigration Act 1971 with potential liability for a fine or even imprisonment.
