API / Integrations on the Finance / Accounting Side - Contractor and Client

API / Integrations on the Finance / Accounting Side / Invoicing - Contractor and Client, the current functionality really needs to be overhauled to bring the system up-to-date with the modern ways of working and remove many friction points that are occurring within the Product.

The existing Webhooks, whilst they are providing some workarounds and information leave much to be desired as they still require manual 'handling' and verification. They are only one-way (push) static communication, whereas APIs are two-way (pull) dynamic communication

Issues encountered include but are not limited to:
- All of the invoicing communications and documents happen outside of the system
- The invoicing verification against the system is manual rather than automatic
- Clients and Contractors can't see through the system what has been actually been paid in real-terms, rather than the 'PAID' status on Maintain

    We are actively exploring how we better support integrations for contractors within a new API that is currently in early access for some specific use cases.

    As part of this work, we'd love to chat to contractors and find out what systems they are using, and what integrations would be most valuable to them!
