I would like to raise something that should be an easy fix and I'd be very grateful if you could please do this, as it is causing a great deal of frustration for us.
We need the process of booking our customers on to Collins to be as simple as possible - we have quite a few staff doing it, so it is hard to monitor. Please can I ask you make the wording and instructions much clearer, when a staff member tries make a booking at a certain time and there is not enough space.
Your wording (which actually makes very little sense and some of our staff don't realise what this means) is; This booking exceeds an arrivals limit:There are 5/0 heads arriving at this time, including this booking.
May I suggest you say something like 'This booking exceeds your arrivals limit: only (whatever number is programmed - eg) 5 covers may be booked at this time.'
AND please can you make the background or writing of this message a more noticeable colour.. Lots of staff don't even notice the message. If the colour was bold, then the staff would glance at it.
Please bear in mind that the turnover of staff in the industry is quite high, so we're constantly training new staff and this is one thing that would really help us. It is too easy otherwise for staff to overide the booking numbers and our Head Chef is getting hugely frustrated with this constant mistake.
